IMC present at the Global Irish Civic Forum
Representatives from the US, Australia, Sweden, Mexico, Canada, Dubai and elsewhere convened to discuss and debate ways to strengthen Ireland’s diaspora engagement strategies and grow trade relations.
Tánaiste Micheál Martin opened the Forum at Dublin Castle and said this event was an opportunity to “set our eyes squarely on the future” and focus on the “unlimited possibilities” of the global Irish community.
A stellar panel on building networks to promote economic, and cultural connections with Marie Holmes stating, “We are natural connectors, Irish people want to build mutually supportive networks wherever we are.”
Blaine Doyle President of the Irish Mexican Chamber shared creative ways of expanding Irish business opportunities in Mexico. Not least the Irish Whiskey Club that enables small Irish distillers to pitch for space in restaurants across Mexico.
Overall, the forum was a unique opportunity to meet colleagues and leaders who are building new models of innovation and partnerships that connect a global community. It was clear the people in the room were passionate about wanted to work to help guide Ireland’s ongoing diaspora.
