The Irish Food Board’s Trade Mission to the United States and Mexico led by Minister of State, Martin Heydon T.D., Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine
The Irish Minister of State with special responsibility for Research and Development, Farm Safety, and New Market Development at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM), Martin Heydon T.D., visited Mexico City from 28 to 30 April 2022.
The main objective of the visit was to promote strong Mexico-Ireland agri-food links through development and economic cooperation, market access, and business partnerships.
The Minister also participated in the launch of the EU Pigmeat Promotional Programme, which saw participation by senior pigmeat importers and members of Congress, among other officials, on the occasion of the first shipment of Irish pigmeat to Mexico. He also hosted a working lunch and a dinner with guests representing the Mexican agri-food sector, including CoMeCarne and Consejo Nacional Agropecuario (CNA), and commercial councils such as COMCE and ANIERM, as well as the Irish-Mexican Chamber, to discuss future economic and trade opportunities.
