The Irish – Mexican Chamber as it exists today was established by a team that launched the IMC in 2016 which included: Orla Branigan (President), John Milner (Treasurer), Raul Medina Mora, Lynda Stopford, and Connor Hennessy.

The founding members recognized the increasing level of opportunity for Ireland in Mexico and hoped to create an organization that would promote strong business links between the two communities and support small, medium and large Irish enterprises to consider Mexico as a business destination.

Ireland and Mexico have a long history of friendship and soon after its foundation, the Chamber made contact with a range of Irish companies already established in Mexico. Today, the Irish Mexican Chamber is a not-for-profit membership organization, registered with the Ministry of Economy (SE) in 2018.

IMC collaborates with the Embassy of Ireland in Mexico as well as the Embassy of Mexico in Ireland, who are a continued source of support in bolstering the historical relationship between Ireland and Mexico.

Team Ireland is also an ally to the Chamber, formed by Enterprise Ireland (Education in Ireland), IDA, Bord Bia, and Tourism Ireland, as well as Latin America Trade Council of Ireland, EuroCham and the EU Delegation in Mexico, among other Mexican entities that provide support to Mexican and Irish businesses looking to expand in Mexico and Ireland.
